Early Years (1995-1998)

Elliott is an emo/post-hardcore band from Louisville, Kentucky with a cast of constantly changing band members with the exception of vocalist Chris Higdon. The band was founded after the dissolution of Falling Forward in 1995, with Chris Higdon taking up guitar and vocals, Jonathan Mobley on bass, Ben Lord on drums, and Jay Palumbo as a second guitarist. Within a year, Lord would leave the band and Kevin Ratterman would take his spot as the drummer.

False Cathedrals (1998-2000)

The album False Cathedrals would be recorded at InTransit Studios which was co-owned by Ratterman. It was met with critical acclaim and has a more polished sound comapred to the earlier U.S. Songs. However, soon after the release of the album both Palumbo and Mobley would leave the band. Jason Skaggs would take over bass and Benny Clark (also previosuly of Falling Forward) would play guitar.

Song In The Air (2000-2003)

In 2002, the band would be recording for an EP but would make enough songs to release a full album. After much touring in 2002, Song In The Air would be announced in December 2002 and released in April 2003. The latest album was different, layered with post rock influence and even string arrangements done by another Louisville group called Rachel's. Skaggs would leave and bassist Billy Bisig would take over. Shortly after the release of Song In The Air, the band would unfortunately break up.

Present (2003-Now)

Many band members continue to pursue music and play in bands or work on music recording. A reunion show occured in 2022 at Furnace Fest and some future projects are being spoken of but nothing is set in stone.
